Does any agency have an inmate worker vocational program where the inmate workers provide dry cleaning services for staff uniforms? If so, please reach out to me. I would love to ask for more information. If you know of another agency that does this, please let me know.

OBrienM@StLucieSheriff.com | http://www.StLucieSheriff.comHello Everyone,
Could anyone share your agency’s policies regarding “time between shifts” or “overtime”? We are looking to evaluate the minimum amount of time required between shifts for our officers. While we understand that there can be exceptions due to unique circumstances, we would appreciate knowing what your agency has in place. Thank you in advance for any assistance you provide.

813-909-6106Hello, our agency is looking for policies/SOP’s regarding how you handle the issuance of retirement cards and how you satisfy LEOSA requirements for sworn officers/deputies who have worked either a full retirement or have worked long enough to collect retirement, but leave early (vested). We are wanting to update how we issue the cards, what verbiage to put on the cards, and what we attach to it to be in compliance with federal statute 926C.
Any assistance you could provide, such as policy or sop, would be a big help. Please reach out to me at ebowers@largo.com. Thank you,

Eva.Hicks@osceolasheriff.orgOne of our police officers, Raul Garza was on-duty yesterday when he was notified that his home in LaBelle, FL was on fire (photo attached). The Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office responded to find that all people got out safely but three of his pets passed away in the blaze. The house and all the contents is a complete loss. Aside from Officer Garza and his girlfriend, there were six children in the home, ranging in age from 8 to 16, that lost their clothing and belongings. I am hoping that the FL-PAC family may be willing to share this in hopes that folks will consider using the following GoFundMe link, which will go directly to Officer Garza and his family.

http://www.homesteadfl.govGood afternoon,
For those of us that have civilian crime scene technicians, I’m wondering if you have a ranking order or grade steps for the job position. Specifically, do you have job descriptions or a policy that differentiate between a new technician and one that may have a larger skill set and experience – for example, the difference in classifications between an “Officer I” and “Officer II” job position based upon experience and education.
Any policies or job descriptions regarding civilian crime scene technicians are appreciated.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving,
Craig

I am inquiring whether any agency has a therapy dog that stays at the police station. I know that many schools have therapy dogs, typically located in the main or student affairs office. I am looking for a similar arrangement at the police station. If anyone has any information they can share, I would greatly appreciate your help.
