INTERNAL INVESTIGATION RECORDS: FINAL ACTION SUMMARY Item #59
This record series serves as the final action summary of investigations of allegations of employee or officer misconduct and/or violation of law enforcement agency regulations or orders, state or federal statutes, or local ordinances. Investigations may also cover discharge of firearms or other use of physical force. The completed investigation file is scheduled separately based on the nature of the outcome (sustained formal, sustained informal, or not sustained/unfounded/exonerated). The statement of final action may take many forms, including a memorandum, correspondence, logs, or reports.
RETENTION: Retain as long as the Personnel File.INTERNAL INVESTIGATION RECORDS: NOT SUSTAINED/UNFOUNDED/EXONERATED Item #136
This record series documents the investigation of allegations of employee or officer misconduct and/or violation of law enforcement agency regulations or orders, state or federal statutes, or local ordinances. Investigations may also cover discharge of firearms or other use of physical force. These records document cases in which the charges were determined to be unsustained or unfounded or the employee or officer was exonerated. The series may include, but is not limited to, statements by the employee, witnesses, and the person filing the complaint.
RETENTION: 1 anniversary year after final disposition.INTERNAL INVESTIGATION RECORDS: SUSTAINED FORMAL Item #134
This record series documents the investigation of allegations of employee or officer misconduct and/or violation of law enforcement agency regulations or orders, state or federal statutes, or local ordinances. Investigations may also cover discharge of firearms or other use of physical force. These records document cases in which the charges were sustained and formal discipline administered. “Formal discipline” shall be defined as including demotions, removals, suspensions, or similar
action. The series may include, but is not limited to, statements by the employee, witnesses, and the person filing the complaint.
RETENTION: 5 anniversary years after final disposition.INTERNAL INVESTIGATION RECORDS: SUSTAINED INFORMAL Item #135
This record series documents the investigation of allegations of employee or officer misconduct and/or violation of law enforcement agency regulations or orders, state or federal statutes, or local ordinances. Investigations may also cover discharge of firearms or other use of physical force. These records document cases in which the charges were sustained and informal discipline administered. “Informal discipline” shall be defined as including written or verbal reprimands, memoranda,
or similar action. The series may include, but is not limited to, statements by the employee, witnesses, and the person filing the complaint.

Communications Responsibilities [CFA 14.05]
Upon the notification that a pursuit is in progress, the Communications
Center shall:
1) Initiate emergency radio traffic and advise all other units that a
pursuit is in progress, providing all relevant information
2) Immediately notify the watch commander when a pursuit is initiated
3) Receive and record all incoming information on the pursuit and the
pursued vehicle
4) Perform relevant record and motor vehicle checks
5) Control all radio communications during the pursuit
6) Coordinate assistance under the direction of the watch commander
7) Ascertain the availability of aerial and K-9 units and report their
status to the watch commander
8) Notify any affected area agencies of the pursuit
9) Continue to monitor the pursuit until it has been terminatedand then under “Beyond City Limits” we have:
Communications’ Responsibilities [CFA 14.05]
The Communications Center will contact the jurisdiction the pursuit is
entering and advise the jurisdiction of the details of the pursuit, to include:
1) Location
2) Reasonable suspicion that the occupants have committed an act or
offense outlined in this policy
3) Other charges
4) Number of units involved
5) Level of command authorization
6) Type of assistance needed
The Communications Center shall request assistance and relay initial
information to other units and agencies.
The Communications Center shall attempt to patch communications
between Altamonte Springs units and the jurisdiction through which the

Our state attorneys office sends out legal updates like “legal eagle” for legal updates.
I know there is an app/program that some agencies use. I believe Pinellas Park was looking into it but I’m not sure I just vaguely remember. Hope that helps!Christin BergesParticipantattached

Other than the firearms/drug burns where SCSO destroys them for us, we are responsible for our own destructions. It does require at least two persons be involved and sign off on it (which is a measure to try to eliminate one person walking away with something), and we try to destroy as much as we can while we’re under the cameras (that part is not in policy, it’s just our preference). -
