E. Juvenile Informant (CFA 15.03):
Hello….see our policy portion below for juvenile CI:The department discourages establishing any CI less than eighteen years of age and prohibits
establishing a CI who is under twelve years of age, unless approved by the Chief of Police or
designee. If any CI is a juvenile, the member must obtain signed consent from the CI’s parent or
legal guardian, which will be submitted with the CI Source Packet prior to utilization. In addition,
the CI’s parent or legal guardian will be kept informed as to the use of the juvenile CI at all times
without exception. The rationale for use of a juvenile CI shall be detailed in the CI’s Activation
