Good Morning
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping safe. I am reaching out to agencies that have a Therapy dog program for the handler’s Job Description. We are in the process of developing a similar initiative and interested in gathering information on the roles and responsibilities of a therapy dog handler. If you have a detailed job description outlining key duties, qualifications, and any other relevant information for those in the handler position, kindly share same with our department.

Hello. Lake Co. SO has a pretty robust therapy dog program. We have three handlers, all of them put their personally owned dogs through Paws and Stripes training at the department expense and bring their dogs with them to work. Currently they are all assigned to our School Resource unit but that is not a requirement. I attached our policy, we do not have a job description so far.
