    Requesting polices/procedures regarding arrestees coming in with prescription medication. Do you accept and store in inmate property or refuse and arresting agency is responsible for it.

    Yes, we do accept it, but we prefer for them to leave it at home. It goes into their property and is not used. See attached policy.

    From Miami-Dade Corrections:

    Arrestees possessing medication during the intake process shall be placed in their property bag. Unless directed by IMP staff, no medication shall be discarded. In the event that CHS requests to see their medication, MDCR Intake Staff shall facilitate by communicating with the Property Staff.
