I was wondering if anyone had policies on Military Leave as it pertains to their HR departments guidelines. Specifically regarding the employee’s lead time on their leave. I was made aware that if the employee has an extended deployment on a Saturday, they could be preparing as far back as Thursday prepping equipment and getting ready for transport. Federal and State laws, as far as I can tell, don’t cover travel time – but if they are actively getting ready and have a requirement to be at the transport location 2 days prior, that sounds like if they have a shift during that period it should be excused?
