Good afternoon
I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that was able to make it to the conference for making it a great week! Those that were not able to make it, we missed you and hope you and your loved ones are safe and recovering from the storm. I am sure many of us are prepping already for the next one.
Thank you to all of our volunteers and the Training Committee led by Layfayetta Hodges, for compiling great training and thinking outside the box with a fresh perspective.
Now to a bit of an update. I share bittersweet news that 2nd Vice President Oscar Kieffer resigned his position on Thursday. I am very grateful for him and his commitment to the PAC for the last 10+ years. He will be missed as he has become family. We wish you the best of luck and know you aren’t leaving us, just changing direction. But with change comes growth. The Board and I discussed his replacement in depth and with a suggestion from Secretary Adam LaFan, have chosen to continue to increase discipline diversity on the Board. I am pleased to announce that Flora Miller from the DCF Inspector General’s Office has accepted the position of 2nd Vice President. She is the first ever IG representative on the Executive Board! As result of her acceptance, Matt Fletcher has taken on the role of the Chairperson of the Scholarship and Awards Committee.
I am looking forward to Flora and Lafayetta working together and seeing what those two brilliant minds will bring us!
I will send a message out in regards the the Nomination and Elections Committees as soon as each member has been confirmed.
