17. Jewelry and Piercings
a. Any jewelry detracting from a professional appearance and/or affecting the ability to perform job functions shall not be permitted, except when required by duty assignments.
b. No visible jewelry other than earrings, rings, wristwatches, and a bracelet shall be worn by sworn members while in uniform. Any other visible jewelry associated with body piercing is prohibited, including jewelry or piercings visible through the uniform or prescribed business attire, regardless of gender.
c. Sworn male members are prohibited from wearing earrings.
d. Sworn male members in specialty assignments, such as within the Special Investigations Section, may be granted permission to wear earrings with supervisor approval.
e. Sworn female members are authorized to wear one matching pair of small spherical, conservative, diamond, gold, white pearl, or silver pierced or clip earrings with supervisor approval.
1) A maximum of one (1) earring may be worn in any one ear.
