ParticipantSee attached policy:
1. The number of hours required per month or year – 32 hours per quarter. (page 6-7)
2. Whether they are allotted time to check emails, and how those hours are tracked. They email their hours to their supervisor (page 7)
3. If there is a specific requirement for patrol hours, and whether patrol and training hours are counted separately (it all tracks together – they don’t have to work patrol necessarily. (page 7)
4. The consequences of not meeting the required hours. Removal from Reserve Unit (page 6-7)
5. Whether repeated failure to meet the required hours results in termination. YesAttachments:

ParticipantWe are waiting on some things to be vetted first. Here are some concerns thus far:
1. The applicable misdemeanor charges are not a misdemeanor exception, so unless an officer witnesses the crossing into Florida, it didn’t occur in the officer’s presence.
2. It’s a felony if you have prior deportations, but you won’t know that without access to an ICE database.
3. Without access to the ICE database, you can’t tell whether or not a person has been granted unauthorized alien lawful presence by the Federal Government.
4. Some terminology is not defined by state statute or Federal law yet.I’m sure that these things will be cleared up in the near future, but I would be cautious about enforcement activity until it is further clarified.

ParticipantThe Policy and Accreditation Unit is a direct report to the Sheriff. We used to be under our Office of Professional Standards (IA function) but that was recently reorganized.

ParticipantThe Trespass Warnings we now issue are created without our Reporting System, but captures the same information as our old forms did, so I am attaching a copy in case it helps.
