ParticipantGood Morning,
We have a Digital Evidence Management (DEMS) Unit as part of our Records Division. One of our civilian Records Services Supervisors oversees Police Records Technicians (5 full time and 2 part time) and Police Legal Assistants (2 full time). I believe the legal assistants are primarily responsible for reviewing for discovery.
Digital Evidence Management (DEMS) Unit – Receives, stores, retains, protects, reviews, redacts in compliance with Florida public records law, and disseminates Mobile Video Recording System (MVRS) audio and video data made or created by Department personnel.

ParticipantThe FTO incentive pay and shift differential pay is written in the Officer/Technician collective bargaining agreement. We are about to have a new contract go into affect. The differential may be increasing but I’m not sure. The City posts the full contracts on our website: https://www.stpete.org/government/jobs/labor_relations.php
FIELD TRAINING OFFICER
Any Police Officer who is assigned to the Field Training Unit as an FTO shall receive, in addition to the Officer’s base rate of pay, Extra Duty Pay for Field
Training Officer (FTO pay) in the amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the Officer’s base rate of pay during the term of this Agreement. This extra-duty pay
will be paid bi-weekly to qualified Officers during their periods of assignment to the Field Training Unit.
Any Police Officer temporarily assigned to the Field Training Unit (Temporary FTOs) will receive, in addition to the Officer’s base rate of pay, this FTO pay in
the amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the Officer’s base rate of pay only during pay periods in which Probationary Officers (POs) are actively assigned to
the Officer.
Officer’s assigned to the Field Training Unit who are temporarily assigned to other units/duties, or otherwise not actively engaged in supervising or training POs (or
FTOs) for two (2) consecutive pay periods or longer, will not receive extra duty pay for the FTO assignment until the Officer resumes such supervisor or training
duties.SHIFT DIFFERENTIAL
Shift Differential for Employees Assigned to Designated Shifts Employees working other than the normal shift schedule on a regularly assigned shift/relief starting between 1:00 p.m. and 3:59 a.m. shall be paid a bonus called “shift differential”. Day shift (2nd relief) employees who are scheduled to work beyond their regularly scheduled working hours shall not receive shift differential.
For the purpose of establishing the applicable shift/relief: 1) a designated shift that normally starts between 1:00 p.m. and 8:59 p.m. shall be designated Third Relief; and 2) a shift that starts between 9:00 p.m. and 3:59 a.m. shall be designated First Relief. Amounts shall be:
First Relief, $1.75 per hour (Midnights)
Third Relief, $1.50 per hour (Evenings)Erika Hasson

ParticipantWe document them separately.
84.1.6A – Our P&E supervisor has a semi-annual inspection checklist (attached).
27.13A – This is completed in conjunction with 27.13C. Our Staff Inspector does an annual report that includes the annual examination of P&E and the annual inventory. The inventory meets the CALEA requirements so that we can also use it for 84.1.6C.

ParticipantAll of our recurring reports/audits have electronic signatures. Most of our forms require electronic signatures as well. We have never had an issue.
Our rosters are a mix. We use digital rosters for online training proofs but we tend to still use physical rosters for some in-person training because it is easier for the attendees to just sign when they walk in.
You should be fine going electronic as long as you are still accurately documenting compliance. If you are concerned, you can also reach out to your FAO program manager. They will be who an assessor calls if there are questions.

ParticipantSenate Bill 1640 was approved by the governor in May. It amends FS 741.29 to include, “A lethality assessment form may be disclosed to a domestic violence center, as defined in s. 39.902, and the domestic violence center must treat the form and the information on such form as confidential.”
