ParticipantGood morning. For clarification and to ensure the ranking systems you are asking for are equivalent, the MDCR ranking system starts with Officers, Corporal, Sergeants, Lieutenants, and then Captain. The captain who runs the facility is appointed position.
1. The MDCR Lieutenants test has two parts. A Written and a Scenario-based portion. The Written Exam evaluates staff knowledge of the materials contained in the reading list provided.
2. The Second part of the exam, called scenarios (Job Simulation Test), exposes staff to fictitious scenarios (on a projector screen) or events called “critical incidents.” Staff will be required to answer multiple-choice questions based on the scenarios. I hope this helpscolette.lattibeaudiere

Participant1. Notary Services:
Does the facility provide notary services? Notary services are provided to all inmates free of charge.
Are there any? No, MDCR will notarize documents of a personal nature and current criminal cases?2. Law Library: Currently, MDCR does not have a Law Library. All legal document request is submitted through our department counselor.
What additional resources, if any, are provided to Prose inmates? Please see the attached policy
Do facilities differentiate “indigent by facility standards” and “indigent by court standards”? Please see the attached policy
Are inmates provided with printed research? Inmates are no longer allowed to keep any original documents. All documents (legal/personal) are copied and the original shred. Please see the directive/policy3. Mail:
I am seeking facility policies regarding the processing of legal mail. All legal mail is opened in the presence of the inmates, and copies are made. The original legal documents are shredded. Please see the MDCR policyAttachments:

ParticipantThe EMAR system that is used at the Miami-Dade Corrections & Rehabilitation by Jackson’s Health Services (Medical) Staff is called Cerner and it has worked well for us. We will, however, be converting over to Epic within the next 2-3 years.
