    Good morning everyone,

We’re looking for policies where the agency doesn’t respond to most parking lot crashes, instead encouraging involved parties to self-report the crash to DHSMV. If your policy allows this, we’d like a copy.

    Thanks!

Here is our policy. Hope it helps!

Involved parties will be instructed to self-report the crash to the FLHSMV website (FloridaCrashPortal.gov) or exchange information without police involvement when all of the following criteria are met:
    a. The crash occurs in a parking lot or on private property,
    b. The apparent damage is under $500, and
    c. No criteria for a Long Form crash report exists.

    Good Afternoon!

Attached is a copy of our Traffic Crash policy. It is up for reevaluation this year but hopefully it’s helpful to you!
