Does your agency have a designated homicide unit? If so:
• How many staff are in your homicide unit? 3 full-time detectives and one part-time as needed
• How is your pay structure? Same as police officers, however, there is special duty assignment pay under Section 21.5 (see attachment).
• Do homicide detectives receive the same compensation as other detectives, or are there pay incentives for homicide detectives? See Page 27 Section 21.5 of IUPA Agreement.
• Do you allow overtime or comp time for homicide detectives? Yes (both)
• Do you encourage or allow promotion specifically within the homicide unit? Yes
